Around

Every weekend, and especially on Sunday mornings, the people of Nantes gather at the Talensac market, the oldest and largest in the city. Stroll between the fish and seafood stalls. Stop off for a glass of Muscadet. It's the Nantes way of life. Every Saturday morning on the Place Viarme, a large flea market delights both the amateur and the simply curious. Passing through the Place du Pont-Morand, the district stretches to the banks of the Erdre, where a boat has been transformed into a successful guinguette and where you can discover the listed river heritage. The walk along the quays winds its way to the heart of the Ile de Versailles, where the Maison de l'Erdre reveals the secrets of "the most beautiful river in France", according to François 1er.

The Talensac district is also a treasure trove of pleasures. The Rue Jean-Jaurès, with its antique shops, flea markets and art galleries, is a veritable treasure trove. At the end of this street is the Place Aristide-Briand, which once housed the Palace of Justice, the prison and the gendarmerie barracks, but now has a new lease of life with its top-of-the-range hotel, restaurant and spa. In the Talensac district, life is finally being lived to the full, and every day is a Sunday.
